Giving Tree

Come Visit Our Giving Tree

The Palmyra-Macedon Intermediate School, and the Macedon Public Library have come together to create a non-denominational giving tree.  It is meant to provide some extra help to families during the winter season.  The tree has cards printed with a child's age, gender and their wish for a holiday gift.  By selecting a wish card, you will be pledging to purchase a gift for a child in need within our community.

If you wish to contribute we ask that you put the items that you have purchased, unwrapped in the box at the Macedon Library by Thursday, December 13th.  Please attach the card from the giving tree to the gift.

Your donation will bring smiles to many children in need this holiday season.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

Friends' Christmas Tree

The friends of the Macedon Public Library have decorated and donated a tree to the George Eastman House Festival of Trees.  Our tree will be on display in the library of the Eastman House until December 12th.

Please visit the Festival of Trees and make a bid to bring our tree home with you for the holidays!!

Pajama Story Time

As always it was a fun night wearing our pajamas and reading bedtime stories. Phil Klingler and Carole Drake joined in with some readings of their own.  And our therapy dogs, Tessa and Macy, roamed the room looking for love, and managed a little nap of their own.

Wish you could have joined us.

Remember....................

This Saturday, November 10th, is the Bullis Room Open House, from noon to 3:00 p.m.
If you've ever wondered about those "old" books in that "special" room at the library, now is the time to find out more about them.  The Bullis family's Victorian era book collection has been place in our care.  The books' publication dates range from the 15th to 20th centuries and the subjects covered by this collection are just as varied.  So, come get a closer look at this books.

This is just one of the programs going on at the library on Saturday.  We will also be set up to scan old photographs of Macedon and its residents, and record memories that go along with them.  The Macedon Historical Society will be present to share some of their scrapbooks, and the Macedon Library History notebooks will also be available to peruse.  Perhaps you'll recognize yourself or a family member in one of these notebooks.

There will be other historic displays, as well.  Light refreshments will be available.

Pajama Story Time is Wednesday, November 14th, at 6:45 p.m.
We always have a good time at Pajama Story Time, wearing our pajamas, snuggling up with our favorite bedtime pal, and listening to bedtime stories. Two of our therapy dogs, Tessa and Macy, will be there in their pajamas, too!  It's fun for all ages!

Election Day Bake Sale

We want to thank all our Town and Village voters who did their civic duty this Tuesday and then stopped by our Friends of the Macedon Public Library Bake Sale.  It brought several hundred dollars to our coffers and, hopefully, many smiles to our voters faces.

Macedon - you are the best!

Booksale Success

The Friends of the Macedon Public Library Used Book Sale was very successful.  Together with the donated items for the Holiday Store, the three-day sale brought in a total $2,035.35!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped throughout the sale and the set-up.  Also, a big thank you to the Pal-Mac football team and its coaches for toting all the heavy boxes to and from the sale.

A Wacky Wednesday Halloween

We were so fortunate to have Halloween fall on a Wednesday, so we could party with the wackiest group of kids I know!

More Halloween Fun

No hurricane could stop Pam from having a good time today!

Nor did it stop our kids from coming to hear Halloween stories!

Even Tessa and Macy got into the spirit (although they were both exhausted from their hurricane watch)
