Woodworking Class

It's back!
We were able reschedule the stool project for our woodworking class.

So, if you still want to learn woodworking, the Macedon Public Library is continuing their Arts and Crafts Night with "Woodworking" taught by Denny Brunner of Arbor Art Senior Workshops.

This lovely stool would make a great gift or addition to any home.
The project dates are
February 11 and 18 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
The cost is $5.00 and includes instruction and all materials.

Please stop by the Macedon Public Library to see the stool and learn more, or call us at 315-986-5932.

Quilting Class

OUR FIRST QUILTING CLASS WAS SUCH A SUCCESS, YOU ASKED FOR MORE!!!!
Thursday, January 21st, begins our second installment of "Quilting", sponsored by the Friends of the Macedon Public Library Arts and Crafts Night.

Our first class will be a brain-storming session where you can choose your own pattern (as long as you have some quilting experience) and discuss fabrics, etc. If you are unable to attend this Thursday you can still join the group, just be ready with the following on January 28: pattern, fabric (washed, dried and ironed), rotary cutter and mat (if available).

The classes will continue as follows:
January 28: rotary cutting
February 4: sewing the blocks together
February 25: sewing the top together
March 18: quilt turning and tying or binding
March 25: open craft night when you can come and finish your quilt

So, come make something beautiful and comforting.

2010

Happy New Year, everyone!

After an exhausting holiday season - we were so busy Jefferson had to help out - we are jumping right into 2010.

However, I think some of you are still in vacation mode. Our story times are off to a slow start. I don't know if it's illness or forgetfulness, or the dread of driving in the snow that has covered our area, but we are back to our busy Monday, Tuesday Wednesday schedule. Also, we had to cancel our stool making craft for the next three Thursdays, but will reschedule for a later date. In the meantime, the Thursday night craft classes are open to anyone who has a project to work on and wants some company and good conversation.

I've noticed that most of the people coming to the front desk just want a good book to snuggle up with or a good movie to watch. After the holidays there is always that need for time to ourselves, but after that we expect to see you all back participating in our fun events!!
