Wow! That was a busy summer! Between children, teens and adults we had 95 activities with an attendance of 1,223 people! I never had a chance to sit down and write on this blog, but I have made promises to myself that this fall I will be better.
As you know, we have a new Director at the Macedon Public Library. Stacey Wicksall has come in and made some exciting changes. Please check out our calendar for all of the upcoming events this fall!
We start next week with a new story time schedule and format:
Mondays: Little Sprouts (ages 2-3) meet with Ms. Dibble at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesdays: Seedlings (up to 18 months) meet with Miss Nina at 10:30 a.m.
Big Sprouts (ages 4-5) meet with Mrs. K at 2:00 p.m.
On Wednesdays we are having an after school program for kids in grades 3-5 starting at 3:00 p.m. Mrs. K will read a book then we'll watch a movie, have a snack and do an activity or craft. Kids must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. There is information available at the Pal-Mac Intermediate School about this program, however children in these grades from other school districts and home schoolers are also invited.
Choo-Choo Saturdays is for children in Kindergarten to 2nd grade starting at 1:00 p.m. A story will be read while the kids play with our extensive train collection in the Community Room. This is a great opportunity for the kids to socialize through themed, unstructured play in a relaxed, safe environment!
At 10:30 Saturday mornings we are offering "Whimsical Arts and Crafts" for children ages 5-12, where children can flex their creative muscles making some fun projects. Registration is required.
And we haven't forgotten the teens! Monday afternoons they can meet from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., where they will do a variety of fun activities, including watching movies, making movies being crafty. Also, one Thursday night a month we will host "Bad Movie Night". Teens and adults will enjoy a delightfully bad movie while snacking on Mark's pizza. Bring your cell phones and tablets because you can text your comments to the screen!
