Boxtrolls

Yesterday we had a blast watching the new release The Boxtrolls, followed by making our own boxtrolls!  These kids have such creative minds!

 

Back From Break

Hope you all had a fun winter break!  It was cold, windy, snowy and......did I mention cold, here.
It was wonderful to see some many families coming in to use the library this week.  Parents and kids gathering movies and books for the cold days and nights, or using the computers for information and games, or making one of our many available crafts on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
But we are back to the regular routine and schedule on Monday.  Story times, activities and movies.
This Wednesday's movie for the Intermediate School kids is going to be The Boxtrolls.  I haven't seen it yet, but am very excited!

 

Winter Break Events

If having the kids in the house is getting to you, and they have populated the yard with an entire city of snowmen, look to the Macedon Public Library for some relief:

For Teens: Make an acid-dyed scarf Monday at 3pm. Registration and a $3.00 supply fee required.  Also, Tuesday at 6pm is Bad Movie Night.  We'll be watching Batman & Robin!  Bring your cell phone to text comments to the screen and enjoy a really bad movie while eating complimentary pizza from Mark's.

For Kids of All Ages:  Tuesday from 1-4pm is open crafts in the Community Room.  Wednesday at 3pm we will be making Valentines for the birds.

For Grades 3+: Another Minecraft Mania on Friday from 4-5pm.  All 9 of the library's computers will be available for play, plus our X-Box for groups.

For Ages 3-12:  Learn basic sign language with the use of stories, rhymes and song.  Sunday, 1:00-1:30pm.

Don't be left out in the cold!!!!

 

Fun Stuff for Kids

We will be having our Wednesday after school movie and activity on February 11th.......Our oasis between early dismissal and winter break.
In recognition of Valentine's Day we will be watching Beethoven's 2nd.




Don't forget, this Sunday is Take Your Child to the Library Day.  
Hot chocolate and stories at 2:00 p.m. 

Special Programs

There will be no after school program this Wednesday because it is a Pal-Mac early dismissal day.  But that doesn't mean there won't be things to do at the library.

The Macedon Public Library is celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day, on Sunday, February 8th.  Join us for stories and hot chocolate at 2:00 p.m.  Bring your sled in case there is plenty of snow on the hill, and this will be the perfect way to warm up.

On Saturday, February 14th, we are introducing our 2015 Reading Challenge! from noon until 3:00 p.m.  Mac Ribbit will be here to say "hi" to all the book lovers.  Come in and check it out!

Frozen on Wednesday

Next week we'll follow the adventures of 8 dogs left behind in the Antarctic, and their owner who is desperately trying to rescue them, in Eight Below.
 

Another Cold Wednesday

Well, my wish didn't come true.  We had another freezing Wednesday.  But the kids and I (and Carole Drake) still managed to make the trek and not turn blue!

In keeping with our winter theme, next Wednesday we are watching Frozen, Sing-a-Long.  So, I'm practicing my fa-la-las and looking forward to a raucous good time!
