Kids and Dogs

Yesterday's after school group had fun and did a little community service at the same time.  After watching the very funny Dogs & Cats, the kids made dog toys that we are going to donate to the Humane Society. 
We tested one of the toys (a fleece ball) on Macy, our therapy dog.  I think it was a success!

 

And then we went outside and ran around and rolled down library hill in celebration of our first beautiful Wednesday in months!

Sheep Shearing at Lollypop Farm

Join us at Lollypop Farm this Saturday, April 18th, at 9:00 am, to watch the sheep being sheared.  I will be there to read the beautifully illustrated book Weaving the Rainbow by George Ella Lyon.

Spring After School Program

April at the Macedon Library is a time for birthdays. 
 Yes, 5 of our staff members were born within a 2 week period! 
 To celebrate, we'll be showing one of my favorite movies on April 8th, Matilda, and eating cake!
        

April Fool's Day at the Library

No Foolin'!  It's Jim Bush!  What a great way to keep warm another chilly Spring Break Day!  The ever popular local magician amazed us with some magic and even taught us a trick or two.

 

 

After the show, the Friends of the Macedon Library provided Peeps and craft supplies so that those who wanted could make their Peep dioramas for the annual Peep contest.  Check back next week for the winners!

Spring Break!

No school for a week!  Yay!
Here's some fun things to do at the library:

Monday, March 30th, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
LEGO Time! Come play with our huge collection of LEGOs!  Pictures and displays will be posted on our website!  Have fun ALL day!!!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2:00 pm 
No Foolin'!  It's Magic!  Local magician, Jim Bush, will entertain and educate us.  Happy April Fool's Day!

Wednesday, April 1st, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Peep-o-ramas! Our Peep Contest is back by popular demand.  Build a diorama populated with Peeps!  Bring your own supplies, or the library will supply some. (Sponsored by the Friends of the Macedon Public Library)
 
Friday, April 3rd, 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Minecraft Mania!  All 9 of the library's computers will be available for play, plus our Xbox One for groups.  For grades 3 and up.
