We started out our third week of the Summer Reading Program with more fun with our Tail Waggin' Tutors!
On Tuesday we had a record breaking number of teens, with two teen programs: Make a Graphic Novel with artist Mary Dolan, and our regularly scheduled Teen Time, which included a movie, video games on our new/original Playstation, and henna designs.
Wednesday brought Intermediate School Principal, Marcia Munroe, reading to students, both present and future. And we also had our regular story time which found our kids having fun crafting or reading quietly.
Thursday was another visit from Wildlife Defenders! They did not disappoint with their selection of animals to educate us about, including a giant toad, giant tortoise, mongoose, opossum, groundhog, porcupine, alligator and a ring-tailed lemur!
And Friday is our Hero Movie: LEGO Batman!
Wow!! Can't believe our program is half over already!!
Our second winner of the Adult Summer Reading program is Tonya Burns!
We are still having lots of fun! We had an awesome Monday with our Tail Waggin' Tutors............
Local hero Dr. Jen Barnes came and read to the kids....
and young and old enjoyed the stories and songs from the Erie Canal performed by Merry Mischief.
Unfortunately, I was having too much fun to take pictures of the kids making first aid kits and goopy soap sculptures. But trust me, there was lots of smiles!
The first winner of our Adult Summer Reading Program, Escape the Ordinary, is Connie Trovato!!
Our first week of the summer program was lots of fun! I've already displayed pictures of Gravitational Bull on Monday. Wednesday the primary school stories and activities were all about our heroes, firemen and policemen. We followed that by trying our hands at a "bucket brigade"!
Friday was fun when the kids planted a seed, made a frog bag to bring it home, and then watched Frog Kingdom.
We were entertained by the father and son juggling team of Gravitational Bull yesterday. Of course, the audience participation is always the best. Who knew a 5-year-old could spin a plate on her first try!
What a blast we had at "Super Hero Training"! Topher brought lots of exotic musical instruments, and taught us some really cool super hero moves. Kids of all ages (parents) had a great time!!
We also enjoyed a visit and story time by our local heroes, Macedon Police Officers Tyler Bueg and David Demchuk!
