Wow! I can't believe that we are already at the end of October. It has been a busy and fun month!
Our Wednesday after school movie and activity program has been wonderful! I am showing movies the kids are a little less familiar with and introducing them to some new characters and stories. We have also done more literacy based activities.
Here is the scary story we wrote for Halloween, which each kid adding a sentence as we went along:
Scary
Story – Oct. 14, 2015
It’s was a dark and stormy night,
and there were two little kids in a deep dark scary haunted castle. They were playing hot potato. The potato hit one of the kids in the face
and exploded. What was left fell into a
fryer and the two kids ate the potato. Suddenly,
a zombie fell from the ceiling and landed at their feet. They hit the zombie in the face with a
spoon. And the kids started laughing
until the zombie’s head feel off. Vampires
appeared and flew around them. The kids
screamed until the vampires fell to the ground.
Then skeletons tried to kill them with swords. One of the kids grabbed the fry oil and poured
over the skeletons. The skeletons boiled
and the kids knocked them down with torches.
Then ghosts wondered around trying to find the kids. Bats flew in.
The kids opened the curtains and the vampires melted. So they took a donut break.
Outside in the graveyard a dog
was hunting for a bone. The dog saw a
vampire and the vampire bit the dog and there is now a vampire dog in the
graveyard. The dog’s puppies turned into
skeleton puppies. The skeleton puppies
fell through the dirt into a dark and scary cave. The puppies lost their heads. The kids left
the graveyard while the zombies started to break dance until their legs fell
off. Suddenly the kids made snow angels
and a snowman. The snow angels came to
life and tried to attack everybody in the world. Then the snowman came to life. And the snow angels flew away. So they took another donut break and played
dress up instead.
