Local Author Visits Us

Our Wacky Wednesday kids had a special treat this week - a visit from local author Sheila Jarkins! Sheila read her new book "Marco Flamingo" about a flamingo who comes north to discover snow, talked to the children about their own curiosities and adventures, and lead them through a series of flamingo crafts. There was much laughter and giggles.

Thank you Sheila for taking the time to share your wonderful book with us!

Macedon Citizen of the Year

Our very own Mert Bartels has been named "Macedon Citizen of the Year"!!!!

Mert and his wife, Jean, have lived in Macedon since 1966. During these 42 years he has served on both Town and Village committees and been very active in the First Baptist church, where he currently holds the most highly elected position of moderator. In addition to his many other volunteer responsibilities, Mert has served on the Macedon Public Library Board of Trustees for the past 20 years, and is our current president.

Congratulations Mert! We are so proud of you!
